On Saturday, October 22, several members of our council were present, with other KofC councils from around the Houston area, to support the annual March of the Surviving Youth rally. Our guys handed out waters and helped with crowd control. The March of the Surviving Youth is an annual pro-life march around Planned Parenthood in Houston. The day starts with a mass at the Catholic Charismatic Center, followed by a rally with hotdogs, music, and a pro-life speaker. The day concludes with a group walk to the Planned Parenthood building, where the participants march “Jericho Style”, seven times around Planned Parenthood, blowing trumpets while praying the Rosary. This year’s rally attracted 500 youth participants.

On Saturday, September 10th, a few knights from our council participated in our first life event of the year and walked in the Run/Walk for Life event, sponsored by The Houston Coalition for Life, held at All Saints Catholic Church, in the Heights. The Houston Coalition for Life is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2002 which works with dozens of churches and thousands of individuals who are dedicated to ending abortion in Houston. Our council got off to a late start with registering for this year’s event, but we hope to be back next year, with more walkers willing to raise even more money for this wonderful cause.

On Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28, our KofC council participated, along with other parish ministries, in St. Bernadette’s annual Time and Talent Fair. A few of the knights manned the table, after the masses, and got to speak to other men about this organization we dearly love and what it truly means to be a knight. Our goal is to help men, their families, and their parishes and community, grow closer to Christ. Through our programs, based on charity, unity, and fraternity, we provide unique opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith.
Now is truly an exciting time to be a Knight at St. B’s Council 10959. Thankfully, 9 men wrote their information down taking their first steps towards becoming a knight with our council. Will you be the next Catholic man to answer God’s call to live and share your faith with others? Come and join us so you can make a difference in people’s lives!
On Saturday, August 27, fellow Knights of St. Bernadette’s Council 10959, and their wives, met at Sokol’s Greek Deli to enjoy delicious food and fraternity. Brother Bob Sokol was kind enough to cater dinner’s for two of our recent business meetings and our council decided it was time to return the favor and provide him and his family some business. We all had a great time visiting with each other. We hope to see more of our current and prospective knights participate in our next social in September (still to be determined).
On Monday, June 27th, the incoming officers for St. Bernadette’s Knights of Columbus Council 10959, were inducted into their offices for the 2022/2023 fraternal year. The evening began with a social, followed by a BBQ dinner, and then the induction ceremony. Our council looks forward to continuing to serve St. B’s and our surrounding community for the upcoming year. If
