Going through Lent is a listening. When we listen to the Word, we hear where we are blatantly unliving. If we listen to the Word and hallow it into our lives, we hear how we can so abundantly live again.
A Week of Directed Prayer in Ordinary Life
This week of prayer is for those who cannot get away to a retreat center for a retreat; it is for those who want to deepen their Lenten prayer; it is for anyone who wants to learn more about how Jesus walks with us each day of our life.
If you have the desire to learn more about daily prayer or begin a regular daily prayer time; if you have the desire to grow closer in relationship with God; or if you are interested in a private and personal time of prayer and week of directed prayer, this is the opportunity for which you have been waiting.
You do not need to take a vacation from work; you do not need to hire a babysitter for the week. This is a prayer experience which is made on your own. It is a daily commitment to 30 minutes of prayer and a 30- to 45-minute meeting with a spiritual director at a time that is convenient for you.
The week of directed prayer will begin with an opening session on Sunday, March 16th, 2:30p-4:30p. You will meet your spiritual director then and schedule your daily meetings for the upcoming week at that time. We will close with a large group prayer of thanksgiving and faith sharing opportunity on Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00am.
