Elementary and Junior High CCE NEWS

PARENT NEWS:

CCE Late Registration:  We will be accepting CCE registration forms beginning Monday, August 4 through Monday, August 18.  Registration forms are available this week in the parish office, and can be mailed or turned in at the CCE or Parish offices Monday through Friday only.  At this time, many of our time slots are filled, so it is vitally important that you list TWO choices for times your children are able to attend CCE.  If your child is eligible to receive the sacraments this coming year, we must have a copy of their baptismal certificate (or date of baptism, if your child was baptized at St. Bernadette.)

Class lists for both Elementary and Junior High students will be posted in the hallway by the Mini Hall on September 7. CCE classes begin on September 14. 

JOIN THE CCE TEAM!  Please consider sharing your faith with our children by becoming a CCE Teacher or Assistant. It only takes a little time to make a BIG difference in the lives of your family as well as your parish family.  We are still in need of teachers for both Elementary and Junior High grades.  Contact Barbara Aubuchon (ext 112) or aubuchonb@stbchurch.org for Elementary CCE and Marianne Bartos (Ext. 113) or bartosm@stbchurch.org for Junior High CCE.  

Remember completion of the VIRTUS program is a requirement to help with CCE. Upcoming classes in our area include:
August 23       9:00 a.m. Shrine of the True Cross in Dickinson
August 28       6:30 p.m. St. Mary in Texas City
Sept. 4             6:30 p.m. St. Bernadette Church

TEACHER NEWS:
Teacher In-service:   If you have already signed up to teach or assist with CCE for 2008-09, there will be a Teacher In-Service on Wednesday, September 10 from 7-9:00 p.m. in the Parish Life Center.

Southern Catechist Day: Save the date of Saturday, September 6, for the Southern Catechist Day 2008 at Shrine of the True Cross in Dickinson.  This is an excellent source of information for both new and returning teachers.   The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.  Please let Barbara or Marianne know by August 20 if you will be attending.
