Health Ministry

The Health Care Ministry is a group of parishioners interested in and committed to promoting health and wellness in the parish. Health promotion activities include: blood pressure screenings (1st Sunday of most months),  first aid, and health-related literature. The Health Care Ministry always welcomes new volunteers!

Blood Drives: Individuals 16 and older are invited to give blood 4-5 times a year. Blood drives are held in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center on designated Sundays from 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Many church members, their family members, and others have been given the gift of life from this ever growing resource.

AED & CPR Education:  Our goal is to equip parishioners to act in emergencies and ultimately save lives. Classes are designed to provide the skills and practice that are needed to act in an emergency.  We follow the American Heart Association curriculum.  Watch the bulletin for class offerings.

Flu Shots Available at St. B’s: When flu season arrives, keep yourself – and your family – healthy.  On Sunday, November 3, after the 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses in the Tasker Room, a Certified Vaccinating Kroger Pharmacist will administer flu shots.  The cost will be $28.  The vaccine is available to individuals age 7+.  If you have insurance, you can complete a form ahead of time at the parish office or download it from this webpage (Insurance Form - Click Here).

CPR Class: Would you know how to do CPR or use an AED in the event of an emergency?  Learn the skills to help your friends and family.  This CPR/AED Course will teach the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child, or infant.  Class will be held on Wednesday, November 6, from 9-12 noon. RSVP is required as seating is limited.  Sign up online at www.stbchurch.org/volunteer
